Quick Wins And Why They Are My Favourite Tasks

How much for your mental energy is taken up each day or week by those tasks that only take about 5-10 minutes but that you never get around to doing?

They can be business related, like update social bios, email accountants, update CRM. Those really quick things that you just need to do, but they’re not urgent. Or, you need to book a dental appointment, book a car service, cancel a subscription. All niggling away at the back of your mind.

They’re the ones that just keep on getting carried forward to the next day or week when there looks to be more free time in schedule meaning you might actually get around to them.

They’re the ones that if you just did them, you know it would make you feel better, but you feel guilty for spending time on them as there are much bigger tasks and projects you should be focussing on.

However, doing those tasks, I like to call them quick wins, can significantly boost productivity, not least giving a sense of accomplishment which can motivate you to take the larger more daunting tasks!

Think of these smaller tasks as your mental clutter, the more little things you have on your list that you keep putting off, the more of a distraction they become from what you really should be spending your time on. Wouldn’t it be great to have a clear focused mind to do your best work?

If you still need to be convinced that these Quick Wins are worth 30 mins of your precious time each day, how about….

Helping you maintain momentum thought the day as you’re making progress.

Preventing procrastination, small tasks can quickly build up and become overwhelming to tackle, but by keeping on top of them in a daily burst of action you’ll avoid the pile up and accumulation of the-things-you-really-need-to-keep-on-top-of!

Becoming a time management pro! The more you do focussed bursts of time, the more you’ll get into the habit of prioritising what tasks you need to do in this time and which tasks can be allocated as a Quick Win.

Reducing stress, by getting these small tasks done, you’ll avoid the overwhelming feeling of having too much on your never-ending to-do list.

Try setting aside 30 minutes each morning to work on these tasks and get them cleared. You’ll probably be surprised how many tasks you can shift in that time and the benefits you feel for the rest of the day.

A quick blog = a quick win for me today too!
